Play Xbox games using your 360 console

One of the most basic problems with the ongoing improvements in gaming console technology is the issue of backwards compatibility. In the past, games from its predecessor would not be compatible with the latest version of the game console. Xbox360 games have this feature. There are ways so that you can play your Xbox games using the 360 console.

One way of allowing you to play both versions of the said games is via updating your game console through the Live system. However, it is required in this method that a high speed internet connection is present. The simple process of connecting your game unit to an available high-speed connection will allow you to update your system. After connecting, all that you really have to do is to wait for the process to finish. Then, you can start playing your original Xbox360 games! By doing this, you remain updated about the latest addition to the games that are being supported by the system. Of course you will be needing a Live account, which could either be a Silver or the Gold membership package.

Another method that would to allow you to play Xbox games on your 360 console is by CD or DVD burning. This is for those who do not have a broadband internet connection. A simple dial-up connection would be sufficient for the download to complete. Using this method, one could simply go to Xbox.com and download a copy of the game and simply burn it on a disc.

This is especially useful for people whose consoles are not connected to a broadband internet connection. It also adds that you could get a supported copy of the game some place else, where an internet connection and a CD or DVD burner is present. This saves you from the task of having to bring the whole game console just for the supported games. The process is nearly as simple as creating an audio cd. This should not prove to be too hard even for beginners.

The last of the methods which would allow gamers to play Xbox360 games in a 360 console would be to order it directly from Xbox.com. However, this method would only be available by Early December for some people. But then again, it may seem as the best choice. The disc includes all the necessary updates needed by the system to enable it to have backwards compatibility. It will be updating the program for the backwards compatibility, which would of course also update the operating system for your xbox console.

I should say that this backwards compatibility feature is really fantastic. First of all, it saves gamers all that money that would be wasted. Waste of money happens because they can’t use their old games or they buy new games. Although this feature only allows your Xbox360 and Xbox games to be played on the 360 console, it will definitely be a feature that would dictate future technological developments in the gaming industry. go here for: xbox 360 games

Which Games to Look Out For This Year

With so many big releases like Halo Wars and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X already come and gone, there is a huge amount of games yet to be released this year, so I thought this would be an appropriate post. So, that said, here are some of the games that you should be looking forward to throughout the year.

  • Residient Evil 5 is the first one really worth mentioning, however, I personally won’t be buying this game, I just find it stupid how you can’t move and shoot or reload and shoot, but that’s just my opinion. I anticipate that when this one comes out on March 13th, it will be a massive hit.
  • Crysis: Maximum Edition – This isn’t a new game, but a box set of all the games rolled into one, you get Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars (the multiplayer) and if you haven’t yet played any of them, that will be the perfect box set for you. The game is released on March 20th.
  • Singstar: Queen – March 20th.
  • Aliens Colonial Marines. Not much has been released on this one but I’m hoping for good things, considering the Alien films. Strange release dates for it, March 27th for PC and unconfirmed for PS3 and Xbox 360.
  • Batman: Arkam Asylum. Being a huge Batman fan myself, I hope this is going to be a good one. By the looks of the trailer you have to fight your way around Arkam Asylum to defeat the evil joker, all in rather good graphics. It seems that this is having seperate release dates for the 360 and PS3, however, I am not convinced.
  • The Godfather 2 – 10/04
  • The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. If you loved the first Chronicles of Riddick game, then you will love this one. with voices of Vin Diesel and still with a bit of FPS and hand combat involved, it should be a good game. Set for release on April 24th.
  • Fuel – I have only seen a few screenshots for this one, and it looks alot like the PS3 game, Motorstorm. Hopefully, it’s going to be a great racing game.
  • X Men Origins: Wolverine. We’ll just have to wait and see if this is going to be a good one as it’s a move game, some can be good and some can be poor.
  • Terminator Salvation – 22/05
  • Prototype – A strange one, you play as a genetically modified person who now has super powers, might be good. Set for release in June 2009
  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction – This game has been in development for a long long time so it really carries alot of expectations but lets hope it will be released when they say this time, June 2009.
  • The Sims 3 – Although alot of people play the Sims games, I hate them, simply because I think they have milked it too much. The amount of expansions they have is insane, but I know people will buy it so here it is in the list.
  • Ghostbusters – Who ya gonna call? June 19th
  • Dirt 2 – 9/09
  • Tekken 6 – 25/09
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – This game was only announced recently but it will definitely be a massive hit, with the amount of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s sold and the amount of awards it picked up, this sequel will hopefully be even better.
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2

It looks like a pretty good upcoming year for games. Hopefully no game publishers or developers will go bust, fingers crossed.

Waiting to Save with Discount Xbox 360 Games

Are you one of the many people out there who are on the hunt for an Xbox 360 Premium system? If so, then you should know that there are a few retailers in particular that you can visit if you want an Xbox 360 Premium system or even the Microsoft Xbox 360 Core system. Of the hundreds out there, here are a few that are definitely worth considering.

Before you go through any retailer to purchase an Xbox 360 Premium system it will be helpful for you to learn more about the video game console and what you are going to get included in your Xbox 360 Premium system package. You will get the Xbox 360 console which features three powerful core processors that are poised to pack a punch, 20 GB hard drive which is detachable and which allows gamers to store their games, music, downloaded trailers, levels, demos and community-created content from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

A Cheaper Alternative

If paying $50 or more for a video game does not sound too appealing to you, then you can choose to rent Xbox 360 games. The new business model has consumers paying a small monthly fee in exchange for renting the largest selection of games available, from just released blockbusters to obscure games from ten years ago. For $10 or $15 a month, gamers can rent games for as long as they like without any late fees. This is a smart alternative to buying expensive games, because gamers often only finish games once (if at all), and much of their $50 or $60 purchase goes to waste. Of course, renting games isn’t exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game system, and PS3, Wii, and PC gamers can all rent video games for much cheaper than it would cost to purchase them.

If you’re interested in purchasing a next generation console, then the Xbox 360 video game system combines a great price with a grest selection of games and incredible graphics. There is simply no better value on the market today, although the Nintendo Wii has a number of exclusive titles which may appeal different gamers. The 20 Gb model goes for $300 (down from $350) in favor of the new 60 Gb model (with support for Netflix), which will replace the 20 Gb model at $350.

The bottom line is that this is a fantastic video game console, one that is definitely worth trying for yourself. Keep in mind that the prices are constantly lowering on older Xbox 360 pro systems as newer versions take their place, and so you can wait even just a few months and the cost will drop dramatically. You do always have the option of buying the game used, but you have to be very cautious if you decide to go this route because you can never really be too sure of the condition of the game if you are buying it used.
